(Shasta) Shasta, Cal., 10, Feb 21. Bold rimless cds with integral rate (SHA-4090) on unpaid 1853 folded letter to Pawlet, Vt., 3-page enclosure with interesting content, regarding Indians, etc.; cover toning and edge wear, a Very Fine strike, and the only known example of this early integral rate postmark.
Estimate    $500 - 750.

(Shasta) Shasta, Cal., March 7. Bold rimless horseshoe postmark (Williams unlisted) with matching "Paid 6" rate handstamp, on fresh cover to Painesville, O., Very Fine, this is the only known example of Shasta's third style handstamp postmark.

Rimless cds (SHA-4100) with matching straight line "Paid" handstamp and manuscript "6" rate, on small cover to Cambridge, Vt., return notation on face and inside addressed to Sacramento City with Paid 6 in manuscript (no postmarks); small tone spots and tears, F.-V.F., an unusual return cover turn usage.
