(Santa Clara) New Almaden (Cal.). Manuscript town and killer on 1861 3¢ rose cover to San Jose, Cal., with red and blue Flag patriotic design; slightly trimmed at right, Very Fine, a new discovery, unlisted in Williams from the first period.
Estimate    $500 - 750.

The first period is July 5, 1861 to December 31, 1861, just 6 months. This cover can only be from this short period as the post office was not reopened until December 1873 and on a patriotic no less.
