Printed corner card on 1884 cover to Washington, D.C. franked with pair 1¢ Bank Note tied by "Philadelphia" duplex cancel, letter mentions getting expense paid for Hotel accommodations by Expo. by looking after Expo. interests, Very Fine.

Lot 1997    

New Orleans Ex. Sta., La./Recd./Jan. 19 (1886). Cds backstamp (Bomar NO86-02) on 2¢ Postal entire from San Francisco addressed to the "Commissioner for Cal., N.C. & S.A. Exposition", Extremely Fine, a very rare marking of which only 5 other examples are recorded, this being the earliest known usage.

Illustrated corner card on cover showing the Main Building, franked with 1¢ Bank Note tied by segmented cork paying the circular rate from Indianapolis to Ohio, Very Fine, a very scarce item as only two other designs have been recorded for this Exposition.

Printed corner card in blue on 1885 unsealed cover with Exposition Logo showing the Globe, franked with 1¢ Bank Note (small scuff) tied by "New Orleans, La." duplex cancel, included is original printed enclosure with illustrated letterhead showing The Main Exposition Building inviting Inventors & Patent holders to exhibit at the Fair, sent to the U.S. Consul in Cologne, Germany, Very Fine and attractive, a unique Exposition item.
