New York, N.Y., U.S. City Despatch Post, 1842, 3¢ black on grayish. 4 enormous margins, orange-red "U.S." in frame cancel marking carrier usage, widely considered to be one of the 2 finest examples of this, the First U.S. Government stamp usage, a Superb gem, ex-Schwartz; with 1977 and 2004 P.F. certificates.

Boyd's City Post, 1864 Postal Cut Squares. 6 cut squares or (mostly) full corners on two pages annotated by George B. Sloane as originals, includes red on white laid, blue on white wove, blue on cream laid, red on amber laid, blue on cream laid & blue on cream laid (Sloane notes the cream shades are amber in Scott), Very Fine, a scarce group for the specialist.
