Red boxed frank on 1861, 10¢ green entire to Craw(ford)s Mills, Pa., canceled by "Gibsonville, Cal., Sep 18" cds, with original miner's 4-page letter datelined "Jameson City, Sept 10, 62"…It fell a snow 11 inches deep last night, so you can guess I am pretty high up in the mountains.; cover wear and nicks at sides slightly affecting frank, Fine, one of only two known examples of this express frank.

Blue circular dated handstamp, with faulty manuscript canceled 1857, 10¢ green, type II, addressed to c/o U.S. Consul, Mazatlan, Mexico, with "By Freeman & Co/Express" routing endorsement, missing backflap & other edge wear, Fine, a rare usage to Mexico of this scarce marking.
