(New Jersey) Middletown Point, Monmouth Co., N.J. 28mm postmark on 13 covers and folded letters from Samuel Mairs correspondence to Trenton, each bearing "V" rate handstamp, one with additional straight line "Paid" handstamp, covers all with enclosures mostly of personal content, postmarks mostly clear throughout, F.-V.F. or better.

El Paso via Independence & Santa Fé, New Mexico. Address on military express carried cover to member of the Mexican Boundary Commission, reverse with pencil docket "Fort Snelling (Minnesota Territory) April 10, 1851"; slight cover edge reduction at top, F.-V.F., a scarce usage over the Santa Fé trail.

Santa Fe, New Mexico, January 11th, 1847. Dateline on folded letter from Army surgeon to his wife, describing sickness, death & battles; to Fort Leavenworth, Mo. with "Independence, Mo./Mar 3" cds and manuscript "5" rate marking; light toning, Fine, interesting Mexican War usage.
