Red, white & blue patriotic cover with design showing Eagle & Crossed Flags above Fort Sumter used to Canada & franked with 1861 10¢ green (small defect) with grid cancel & indistinct postmark below, light strike of "U. States/10 Paid" exchange handstamp in red & backstamped with arrival postmarks, some minor edge wear & toning on reverse, Fine.

Red and blue portrait design with slogan below, on cover to Milton, Vt., franked with 1861, 3¢ rose (small corner nick) tied by "New York, Jun 21" cds and target duplex, docketing and original enclosure datelined "U.S.S. of War Preble on the Gulf Blockade now laying off Mobile, Ala., Jun 8, 1862"; slight cover reduction at right, F.-V.F., the Preble was assigned to the Gulf Blockading Squadron in July 1861, in 1863 she caught fire and exploded.
