Eagle City Post, 1848 (2¢) black. 39 points round circle, margins huge to shaving points at left, corner crease at top left ending in small tear, manuscript canceled and tied by red straight line "Philada. Railroad" handstamp on cover to Hartford, Conn., with matching "New York, 5cts, Mar 30" cds alongside, F.-V.F., a very rare tied usage by the Philadelphia Railroad straight line postmark.

Eagle City Post, 1850 (1¢) red on bluish. Stamp showing cracked plate variety at bottom left, margins full to just in at bottom, uncanceled affixed on locally addressed cover, red "Strait's Despatch, 48 So. 3rd St., Paid" circular handstamp alongside, with original April 8th, 1854 notice soliciting the Sunbury and Erie Railroad Company, Extremely Fine; with 2009 P.F. certificate.

Eagle City Post, 1850 (1¢) blue on bluish. Large margins, affixed across flap on reverse of 1850 printed Pennsylvania Rail Road Co. notice, addressed locally from the George W. Carpenter correspondence, tied by red "Strait's Despatch Post, At Adams Exp'rss & 48 S. 3d St., Paid" circular handstamp with additional strike on front; stamp with sealed vertical tear from opening, otherwise F.-V.F., an extremely rare tied on cover usage of the blue 1¢ Eagle City Post adhesive.

Frazer & Co., 1845-51, 2¢ black on grayish. Clear to ample margins, manuscript canceled on fresh 1848 folded letter to New York City, red "Cincinnati, O., 10, Mar 9" integral rate cds at right, Extremely Fine, a wonderful and extremely rare example of the Frazer's black on grayish eagle stamp on cover; with 2009 P.F. certificate.

Glen Haven Daily Mail, 1854-58, 1¢ black on dark green. Fine single on 1852, 3¢ Nesbitt entire to Ottawa, Ill., canceled by "Scott, N.Y., Nov 16" cds; cover with light water staining slightly affecting local and reduced at right into indicia, otherwise Fine, an extremely rare on cover usage; with 2009 P.F. certificate.

Full even margin, uncanceled on fresh cover to Skaneateles, N.Y., in combination with 1857, 3¢ dull red, type III tied by "Homer, N.Y., Nov 4" cds; 3¢ stamp with some toned perforation tips, Very Fine, an attractive and scarce usage; with 2007 P.F. certificate.

Gordon's City Express, 1848-52, 2¢ black on green. Margins large to just into frameline at top, tied by red "New York, 10cts" integral rate cds's on cover to Mobile, Ala., with straight line "T.W. Boggs Express" handstamp at left; stamp with small surface faults which appear to be natural to the paper, Very Fine, a remarkable and unique One-Man Express and City Local combination usage; with 2009 P.F. certificate.
Scott No. 72L3; $650 ++    Estimate $750 - 1,000.

Little is known about T.W. Boggs Express who operated in the Millerton & Buffalo area of New York. This may be the only known example of his handstamp.
