HAPAG Line Steamship "Suevia", New York June 24th - Plymouth July 5th 1875. Envelope posted at New York to France and as a convenience prepaid 10 cents for the 9 cent rate of August 1874. Payment made with 1873, 10¢ brown tied by NYFM cancel. Cherbourg exchange office of July 6th struck on front with Paris to Bordeaux transit of the same day and Gensac arrival of the next day located 32 miles east of Bordeaux. Atlantic Transit 11 days, Very Fine.

NGL Line Steamship "Mosel", New York March 6th - Southampton March 17th 1875. Envelope posted at Middlesburgh, Massachusetts 5th March with "NEW YORK PAID ALL / MAR / 6" transit and addressed to Constantinople, Turkey. Prepaid the 11 cent North German Union Closed Mail rate of August 1872 using 1873, 1¢ ultramarine + 10¢ brown. Reverse bears Turkish exchange office stamp for March 29th. The "Wfr." handstamp indicates that the letter was taken off at Southampton and routed through Aachen. Atlantic Transit of 11 days; 10¢ with s.e. at left and 1¢ with some blunt perfs from cover overlap at right, F.-V.F.
