Blue double-lined oval handstamp with "Paid" blue straight line handstamp used as frank plus "Pacific Express Co./Stockton Mar 20" blue oval handstamp struck twice on 1853-55 3¢ Nesbitt entire to San Francisco, portions of "Stockton" in the double-lined oval handstamp enhanced with pencil, Very Fine and attractive; Cover illustrated in Coburn's Letters of Gold (page 208).

Prindles Express/From Yreka To Scott & Klamath Rivers. Black oval handstamp on stampless cover to Yreka, "27$" manuscript notation so evidently a money letter, portions of the handstamp enhanced with pencil, opened a bit unevenly at top, F.-V.F., a rare marking, Cover illustrated in Coburn's Letters of Gold (page 211).

Forwarded by Reynolds & Co. Express. Oval handstamp on 1849 cover from Louisiana to San Francisco, postmarked "Mansfield, La." cds with small "10" rate handstamp (crossed out) with "40" rate added, included is interesting original enclosure talking of general conditions in the South, the letter ends, PS: Tell us whether it will do to bring Negroes there or not., some edge wear, F.-V.F., a very rare Express cover used in 1849, one of only a handful known used this early.

Black oval handstamp on folded letter addressed to "Jamestown, Mormon Creek, San Francisco, California", letter is headed "Washington Nov 28, 1850" and mentions Congress, no postal markings so evidently sent from the East to Reynolds under separate cover and then delivered collect in the mines with "1.00" pencil Express rate, small sealed tear at bottom, Very Fine.

Reynolds & Co.'s Express. Small black oval Forwarded /by/Reynold's & Co/Express with manuscript "2.00" rate marking, on cover with manuscript "Bayou Pierre La" and "40" transcontinental rate from Louisiana with "Aug 2 1850" date, to Stockton, some aging & couple faults on reverse, Fine and scarce.

Reynolds & Co.'s Express. Clearly struck "Forwarded by Reynolds & Co. Express" oval handstamp on brown cover from New York City to San Francisco, sent by mail via Panama with "New-York 40 Oct. 11" integral-rate circular datestamp, undoubtedly carried by Reynolds to the mining camps, Very Fine, Reynolds & Co. was one of the earliest California expresses, carrying mail to the Southern Mines.

Blue oval handstamp and "forward immediately" and "pr Gregory" manuscript notations on stampless folded letter to Monterey, exchanged with "Gregory's Express Office, San Francisco" black three line handstamp and "Not Paid" black oval handstamp, miner's letter is headed "Muculumne Hill, March the 28 1852" and concerns personal and business matters, Very Fine, a rare conjunctive use; with 1974 P.F. certificate.
