Mexico, 1868, 6c black on buff, Matamoros. Cons 9-70, blue district name, horizontal pair, "Bagdad" boxed cancel (Schatzkes 735AA), large to huge margins, Extremely Fine and choice, a beautiful pair.

An important little blockade runner town for cotton during the U.S. Civil War and French Intervention, port town on the Texas border was destroyed by Hurricane and is non existent today, rare piece as is any sub from Matamoros, needs to be exhibited.
