Over 280 stamps, neatly displayed on quadrille pages, consisting primarily of Small and Large Shield issues, mostly used and a few unused, a wealth of cancels including some overseas such as Shanghai; a few covers included; also includes a very fresh set of 13 Proofs in values and colors close to the issued stamps; overall somewhat mixed condition, needs close evaluation to determine true value, please inspect.

Great Britain, Classics Collection, 1840-1881. Very powerful collection neatly displayed on quadrille pages, beginning with 37 examples of #1 Penny Black, including 3 on cover, a strip of 4, most have been plated and all are represented, some with duplicates, including 3 plate 11, 2 plate 10, etc; red and black cancels noted; also containing the very rare #O1, the "VR" Official (Scott catalog value $20,000); there are 14 copies of Two Penny Blue including a pair, most with Maltese Cross cancels red or black; #3 with several unused and 123 used, including a block of 4 and strip of 4, many Maltese Cross cancels with 7 having numbers within, also strip of 4 on cover; 34 of #4 including 3 pair and strip of 3, couple with number in MC cancel; embossed issues include #5 1sh green with 6 examples and 1 on registered cover with Cork spoon cancel, all with margins, plus 3 cut to shape; #6 10p with 4 examples full margins; #7 (2, with one on cover to Newfoundland); various perforated penny red & two penny blues with several on cover; various 4p, 6p & 1sh including some covers; also including #31 the 1½p lilac rose (SG 53a rosy-mauve) with minor faults, with BPA cert; various 1862-81 surface printed issues, some on cover; also 2sh pale brown, 5sh, 10sh & £1 (some faults); this collection has enormous catalog value and some very rare items, mixed condition, needs careful evaluation.

Phenomenal study of the 1st Issues, well over 1,000 stamps neatly displayed on quadrille pages in a binder, arranged according to Print (Paris or Athens) and Impression, year and date of issue, every imaginable shade, paper,etc; many errors in back numbers, varieties, very rare #10 (catalog value $15,000) with René Simmermacher certificate and signed by A. Diena; a wealth of cancels; this collection is a dream for Hermes Head specialists and is worthy of very close examination; condition generally F-VF or better, fresh and attractive, please inspect.
