Rather indistinct date stamp (Whittlesey #3, R A) on stampless cover to Acapulco, Mexico, with "PAID" handstamp and manuscript 20 rate marking (to west coast of Mexico); letter probably was from George Curry, territorial governor, to Gen. Joseph Lane, territorial delegate to Congress in 1854, en route back to Oregon; edge wear and backflap damage, attractive Very Fine appearance.
