Confederacy, Gonzales, Texas, 1864 (10¢) gold on garnet. Tied by pen cancel on cover postmarked very faint "Gonzales" cds and straightline "Paid" to Eustace St P[hillip]. Bellinger, Co. B, 8th Texas Inft, Hobby's Regt, Galveston, Texas; stamp and cover faulty (portion added at bottom left); includes original 3-page letter dated July 3, 1864 to Bellinger from his mother, talks of sending cotton via Eagle Pass (Texas)., Very Fine appearance, with 2007 C.S.A. certificate declining opinion"as to this genuine label originating on this envelope", however this is as all genuine examples exist.

Confederacy, Macon, Ga., 1861, 5¢ black on light blue green. comma after "OFFICE" variety, clear to mostly large margins, tied by "Macon, Geo./Paid 5" handstamp (type IV) on cover with red cameo advertising corner card of Wesleyan Female College (Dietz type Ic) to Cedar Spring, Ga.; stamp with tiny tear at upper left, cover with couple tiny edge tears, otherwise Very Fine; with 2007 C.S.A. certificate also noting small ink stain at left edge of cover which has subsequently been removed.

Care of Capt. G.W. Wimberly, Houston County Volunteers, 11th Regt, - Ga. Volunteers; right edge of cover expertly restored and stamp with minor edge flaws at right, Very Fine appearance, a wonderful rarity.
