Confederacy, (Colleges) Trinity College, N.C./23 Aug. Neat cds on turned cover to Greensboro with matching "Paid" in oval handstamp with manuscript "10" rate handstamp, inside shows United States 1857 3¢ dull red tied by blue "Columbia, S.C./Feb. 24" cds & used to Normal College, N.C., flap a bit worn, Very Fine.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

Probably used in 1861, with inside usage showing United States used during the Confederacy and an excellent example of the Trinity College postmark.

Fancy red embossed cameo corner card on small cover franked with an 1861 5¢ green, stone 1 (large margins to just touched at top) tied by "Danville, Va./Feb 25 " cds with manuscript day to Staunton, Va.; few minor tone spots and bit of flap missing, Fine.
