Confederacy, 13-Star "Jackson" Flag. handpainted in red, white, blue & yellow on cover franked an 1862 5¢ blue, local print paying the drop letter rate and tied by "Richmond, Va./Aug 26, 1863" cds on local cover with calligraphy address; couple edge tears, side flap and most of top flap missing, Fine appearance and completely unique.

Confederacy, Jefferson Davis Medallion. Patriotic design in blackish purple (Dietz JD-1) on oversized yellow cover to Tennessee Governor I.G. Harris in Nashville, mostly clear strike of red "Adams Express Co., Memphis, Tenn., Jun 20" oval date stamp; cover refolded at right and light stain spots at left, Fine, an extremely rare express usage cover and patriotic usages, this is one of the rarest of Adams Express Co. handstamps and quite certainly is unique on a patriotic cover.
Estimate    $1,500 - 2,000.
