Lot 1829    

Great Britain, Queen Victoria Free Frank, 1850. Mourning cover addressed in the Queen's hand to the Duchess of Sutherland at Inverary Castle, and as was her custom, she endorsed the envelope "The Queen"; postmarked with red Crown and circle "Paid / 29 Oc 29 / 1850"; on reverse transit mark and Inverary receiver and black royal seal virtually intact; cover is a bit wrinkled with edge wear but still attractive; accompanying an exhibition page with color portraits of the Queen and the Duchess, F.-V.F.
