Charleston, S.C., Honour's City Express, 1849, 2¢ black on brown rose. Margins ample at bottom to touching at sides and in at top, uncanceled and affixed to piece with portion of red Charleston, S.C. cds and manuscript "Aug 6th, 1849" docketing, tiny unnoticeable pinhole, Fine, a great rarity, with only five examples of the 1849 2¢ Honour's on brown rose paper recorded, this being the unique "unused" uncanceled stamp on piece listing, ex Worthington, Caspary, Boker, Golden; with 1999 P.F. certificate.
