1870, 1¢ ultramarine, two singles + 2¢ red brown + 12¢ dull violet. In combination with 1873, 3¢ green, pair on 1874 cover to Pascasmayo, Peru, all canceled by target handstamp with matching "Parker, Ky., Apr 21" cds at top, red "New York, 12, Apr 25" transit cds, Lima backstamp; 2¢ with s.e. at right and cover slightly reduced at top, F.-V.F., an unusual 4-color franking.

Lot 1177    

1870-71, 7¢ vermilion + 1¢ ultramarine. Tied by target cancels on 1870, 3¢ green registered entire and affixed over "Pleasant Ridge, Kan, Oct 5" postmark, sent by the postmaster with additional target postmarks sealing backflap; stamps with minor perf flaws from overlapping cover at top, otherwise Very Fine, a scarce 8¢ registry fee usage as this fee was only in effect from Jan.1, 1874 to Oct. 1, 1875; notes and signed S. Ashbrook on reverse.
