(Calaveras) Angels Camp, Cal., Feb 13. Cds on cover to Smithtown, New York franked with 1861-66 5¢ red brown pair (small defects) with pen cancels, bottom backflap partly missing, lovely Very Fine appearance, a very rare franking with th 5¢ red brown, ex-Myerson, illustrated in Coburn's Letters of Gold (page 29).

(Calaveras) Campo Seco, Cal./Aug. 26. Dark blue double circle postmark on stampless cover to Yuba City, Cal. with matching "Paid 3" handstamp in circle, Very Fine.

(Calaveras) Campo Seco, Cal./May 13. Blue cds on 1857 folded cover to France with matching blue straight line "Paid" with manuscript "25¢" rate, cover forwarded twice and turned and reused in France with postage due handstamp, Very Fine, a very scarce usage with interesting letter written in French.

(Calaveras) Double Springs (Cal.), June 11 (1852). Neat manuscript postmark (Williams CAL-850) with manuscript "Paid 6" on cover to Illinois; some edge wear and minor flaws on reverse, F.-V.F., an extremely scarce postmark.
