(postmaster), Belton, S.C." with docketing that the envelope contained a draft for money, Very Fine.

"Free" is part of the imprint, consequently the Richmond type 6 postmark appears without the necessity of a handstamped "Free" marking.

Glasspool, Esq. in Opelousas, La., no postmark, light folds, small piece missing from backflap, Very Fine, Ex-Gunter, signed Brian Green.

Covers signed by Dr. Starr, who was the head of the Trans-Mississippi Department, are very desirable and scarce.

Born in 1839 in London, England, Glasspool is shown online as moving his family from Texas to Louisiana between 1861 and 1864, likely because of the war.
