Row 2, number 4, large margins, bright vibrant color and very fresh, sealed cut well into the stamp at right, Extremely Fine appearance, an extremely rare 6d State III proof, only five examples of this value are recorded with this being one of three examples of the 6d State III proof recorded in slate violet, the others are in black.

Samoa, 1877, 2sh Dull Grey Brown, State III, Imperforate. Row 2, number 3, large to huge margins, rich bright color, fresh and Extremely Fine, a wonderfully choice example of the 2sh State III proof, one of the rarest Samoan Express proofs with only two examples recorded of the 1sh State III proof.

Row 1, number 1, on thin white webbed paper, large margins, deep rich vibrant color, bright and fresh, Extremely Fine, a remarkable example of the 9d State IV proof, only three State VI proofs are recorded with this being the unique 9d State IV proof in deep chestnut with the other two examples in black and in the issued orange brown shade.
