1867, 15¢ black, E. grill. Tied by fancy leaf handstamp and red "New York Am. Pkt., Sep. 3" cds on 1868 folded letter sheet to Madrid, Spain, red London datestamp obliterated by barred oval grid, Spanish red "4R" due handstamp, light horizontal file fold well away from stamp, Very Fine, carried on the North German Lloyd Deutschland and dropped at Southampton on its way to Bremen, sent to London and onward to Spain.

Sep. 10" cds and cork duplexes, Panama transit cds and red "48" credit handstamp, receiving backstamp; right stamp in strip slightly affected from placement at edge of cover, Very Fine, an Attractive and Rare Mixed-Issue Franking to Pay Double 34¢ Rate to Peru by American Packet to Panama and then by British Packet to Peru; with 2010 P.F. certificate.

Jun. 22" cds on 1869 cover to Rome, Italy, red "New York Paid All Direct Jun. 24" and receiving backstamps, red boxed "Aachen Franco" and "4" credit handstamps, purple "PD" handstamp applied by Italian postal authorities, stamp also tied by manuscript, Very Fine, an attractive use of 15¢ F. Grill overpaying the 14¢ rate to Rome by North German Union Direct Mail.
