Clark Approval Books, in addition to being an artist, Clark was apparently also an amateur stamp dealer, included in this lot are three hand-illustrated "house organ" approval books for the "Stamps of France" (no stamps left), they include various hand written articles as well as some recycled printed material; the three contain 16-24 pages and are titled The Comet (2) and The Rocket; also included are five hand-drawn and colored approval book covers (two are front & back) for The Comet (2), The Rocket, The Planet and one untitled but decorated for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee; a fascinating lot.Estimate $500 - 750.

1898, H. Clark Stamp Publication, a hand-illustrated and written 24-page booklet entitled Some Notes on the British Railway Letter Fee Stamps by H. Clark; the book includes six pages of his own research and a check-list of the various Railway Companies' stamps divided according to whether they operated in England, Scotland or Ireland, the best part is a centerfold containing Clark's drawings of the 12 existing types. A fascinating piece of philatelic art and research.Estimate $300 - 400.
