Mexico, 1839 La Guardia, Spain to Puebla, cover endorsed "Correo Maritimo" with red "Galicia Guardia" origin oval handstamp, boxed "Vera Cruz, Septiembre 27" date stamp and reverse with fancy "3" in circle handstamp, with original enclosure, F.-V.F., a scarce maritime usage with the very rare Guardia oval handstamp.

Mexico, 1857, Le Havre, France to Vera Cruz, folded letter sheet franked with France 1853-60, 10c bister + 20c blue + 40c orange + 80c rose and tied by "1495" dotted lozenge handstamps, red Le Havre cds and "4" due rate handstamp; some ink erosion in address panel, still Very Fine, a lovely 4-color franking.

Mexico, 1860 Bordeaux, France to Vera Cruz, fresh folded mourning sheet endorsed per packetbot, franked with France 1853-60, 20c blue + 40c orange canceled by "441" dotted lozenge handstamps, red origin cds at center; file fold affecting 20c, otherwise Very Fine.

Mexico, 1862 London, England to Mexico City, folded letter with red "Lombard Street, Paid Ap 12, 62" origin cds and endorsed "Via France St. Nazaire" at top, sent on the maiden voyage of the new French Transatlantic Service Louisiane, red Calais transit cds and "2" inland rate handstamp applied at Veracruz, Very Fine, ex Schimmer.

Paris origin and red London transit cds's; stamp flaws including 2nd stamp torn from opening, F.-V.F. appearance, still a scarce usage.
