(Plate Varieties) 3¢ Dull Red, Type I, Lines on Bust and Bottom of Medallion Circle Recut, position 47R6, o.g., never hinged (slight gum bend not creasing), margins to in, rich color, Fine, an exceptionally difficult mint stamp, Chase called this position…One of the most remarkable examples of recutting anywhere found.

(Plating) 1851-57, 3¢ Issue, Plate Reconstructions, 8 partial reconstructions of plates 1-8, mostly utilizing #11-11A's with a few #10's mixed in (Plate 0 not represented), presented without regard for early, intermediate or late plate states, includes 567 singles plus 104 duplicates and with 6 additional singles on piece, 39 pairs and 11 strips of 3 - representing a total of 678 stamps (42% overall completion), vast majority have positions identified by Chase; condition varies with overall generally the norm for plating material, generally Fine or better.
