Private Die Medicine Proof & Essay Balance Collection, 68 items, mostly wide margin large die proofs and trial colors on India, includes small section of plate multiples including Fleming Bros. RS88P4 corner margin block of 4, T.J. Husband RS139TC4 block of 8 and a 2¢ vermilion "Specimen", essays including vignette die and B. Pieters & Co. 4¢ essay, couple F. Brown Essence facsimile including perforated specimen, better large die items including RS251TC in brown and dark green and RS241TC1 in green (cat. $500 each); little duplication, overall Very Fine.

Ayer & Co. covers from 1860's to 1897 including a couple illustrated World's Fair designs, two different Barker, Moore & Mein illustrated Druggist Building scene covers, one advertising the 1876 Centennial, early 1850-60's X. Bazin corner card covers showing Laboratory view, 1895 The Bovine Co. allover illustrated shaded ad design, 1910 Chamberlain's Stomach and Liver Tablets multicolored illustrated design, 5 E.W. Brandreth with beautiful engraved package label and a 1868 check signed by Brandreth, various illustrated J.S. Burdsall & Co. and C.W. Roback & Co.billheads, Dr. A.W. Chase Medicine Co. letter with multicolored portrait illustration, Mrs. Winslow Soothing Syrup letter and bill with matching illustrations, G.G. Green with three different illustrated checks, Dr. Harter letters, beautiful Helbold's mortar & pestle letterhead signed by A.L. Helmbold, early Dr. Jayne's items including 1848 bill and 1846 bill posted in Philadelphia, Holloway's circular, original Dr. David Kennedy Golden Plaster product and matching illustrated pamphlet, various Dr. Kilmer & Co. letters including illustrated multicolored, J. Ellwood Lee. Co. illustrated billheads, Seabury & Johnson with beautiful multicolored billheads, J.H. Ayer & Co., The Centaur Co. with various color cancels, Emerson Drug Co. with private die issues, Dr. D. Jayne & Son with cancel types, Dr. Kilmer & Co.including four different provisional issues (one defective), J. Ellwood Lee Co. with private die and battleship issues in multiples, E.T. Hazeltine (Piso Co.) with private die corner margin block of six with omitted impression, etc.; a fascinating group for the specialist.
