Canada, Tobacco Revenues, 1868-1898, 64 elaborate long wrappers, carefully laid out in clear mounts in Strathmore drawing pad, extensively illustrated & engraved, some with Queen Victoria portraits, for bulk tobacco, cigars, snuff; impressive colorful group, needs inspection by Canadian revenue specialist.

Lot 1458 /o   

Cape of Good Hope, Collection, 1853-1900, mostly used on album pages; includes 1853 issue complete including 4d pair, 1855-58 complete, full margin examples of the 1861, 1d & 4d Woodblock issues (cat $2,600 & $3,000 respectively), 1863-64 complete including a lovely large margin mint o.g. 6d purple pair (cat $600), well over a dozen additional triangle issues including a fresh o.g. 1863 4d sheet margin block of 4, good showing of Seated Hope issues, also includes a section of 13 used Mafeking issues with better including the 1sh on 4d pale olive green (Sc. 166, cat $425) and the 3d 18½mm wide Baden Powell (Sc. 179, cat $400); overall condition better than normally encountered.
Estimate    $1,500 - 2,000.
