(Italy) Webley & Scott, Sporting Guns, Rifles, Revolvers, Automatic Pistols, multicolor illustrated design on 1926 cover used in Italy showing Shotgun and Quail, franked with Italy 1L, 20c and 5c tied by Firenze Mar. 20 machine cancel to Springfield Mass., reduced slightly at left and right, Very Fine, a scarce design.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

Webley and Scott is an arms manufacturer based in Birmingham, England. Webley produced handguns and long guns from 1834. The company ceased to manufacture firearms in 1979 and now produces air pistols and air rifles.

Webley is famous for the revolvers and automatic pistols it supplied to the British Empire's military, particularly the British Army from 1887 through both World War I and World War II.
