New York registry exchange label, used as official seals on 1923 registered cover from Vienna, Austria to New York City, damaged in transit, with Austria 100kr. (three) and 2000kr (four) stamps on reverse with Wien (9.5) cds, reverse with purple "Received in Bad Condition/G.P.O. N.Y. Reg. Div" handstamp, sealed with one Official Seal #OX21 and eight registry labels affixed, unusual and rare, vertical fold down center, F.-V.F., a scarce combination.

Charleston, S.C., Honour's City Express, 1849, 2¢ black on yellow, cut to shape, manuscript canceled and affixed by red wafer seal with sealing impression "tying" stamp on fresh 1850 folded letter sheet to New York City, red "Charleston, S.C., 10, Jun 26" integral rate cds and matching straight line "Paid" handstamp; stamp with small tear, F.-V.F. and attractive, a lovely example of this great on cover rarity, with only four examples known of the 1849, 2¢ Honour's stamp on yellow paper of which only three are known on cover, ex Ferrary, Golden; with 1999 P.F. certificate.

Cumming's City Post, ornate oval Eagle handstamp on folded wrapper with original part-printed letter datelined "New York 21 Augt 1846", addressed to local New York City street address, clear strike, Very Fine.
Estimate    $500 - 750.

A choice example of this exceptionally rare illustrated Cumming's marking. Only a handful are known.

1887 Jay's (Richwood) Dispatch Local, on 2¢ green entire, local cancelled by purple horserider handstamp, addressed to La Hoyt, Iowa, with Jamaica Plains, Mass. return address, vertical file fold does not detract, otherwise Very Fine (Lyons PG 914); with 2012 P.F. certificate.
