Hawaii, 1899, 1¢ dark green, block of four, tied by "Honolulu H.I. Apr 17, 1900" duplex on large fumigated cover with printed "On Hawaiian Government Service" corner card and with disinfection fumigation holes (one underneath block), addressed to Waimea, Kauai, large reduction at left, small edge tear at bottom, Fine.
Scott No. 80    Estimate $100 - 150.

Because of an outbreak of the bubonic plague, fumigation was required on all mail from December of 1899 until April 30, 1900.
