Repudiation, caricature showing South and hands out with Northern bills and merchandise, on buff cover bearing three 1861, 1¢ blue singles tied by two strikes of "Springfield Ill. Sep 21 1861" cds to Peedee Green Co. Wis.; cover and stamp faults, no flap, Fine and rare, one of, ex-Bischel.

Romeo & Juliet Farewell Patriotic Valentine, allover design in red and blue showing lovers in embrace with Cupid at Desk at right, on oversized cover front with backflap to Mayland, N.Y., franked with 1861, 3¢ rose tied by "Washington D.C., Feb 10" cds, with matching enclosure of soldier readign letter which opens to show couple holding hand, with Love and Patriotism verse below; sealed front tears and some edge nicks, Fine, still an attractive example of this rare Valentine patriotic and enclosure.

Rose of Washington, multicolored allover Magnus patriotic with Washington, Eagle & Liberty designs on unused cover, with matching "Rose" fold-out enclosure showing 30 views in red brown and dull violet; some mounting adhesion on reverse, accompanied by the red fancy script "Rose of Washington" entire (some faint toning), otherwise Extremely Fine, a lovely example of the wonderful Magnus "Rose" series.

Bingham" signature (U.S. Senate Michigan 1859-1861) to Pontiac Mich., "Washington City D.C. 'Free' Jun 27 1861" cds; reduced at right, Fine and rare caricature design, ex-Wolcott.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

Kinsley S. Bingham died in office at Green Oak, Livingston County, Michigan on Oct. 5th 1861.
