[Washington D.C.] National Washington Monument Contribution Receipt, receipt showing beautiful engraving of proposed monument design (pantheon base: 250 feet, height 100 feet, Obelisk: 500 feet), with engraved "Earnestly recommended to the favour of our countrymen" comprising engraved signatures of Taylor, Fillmore, J.Q. Adams, Webster, Polk, Gallatin and Clay, the contribution of $2 to the erection of the monument notated by David Douglas as agent, horizontal fold, Very Fine and scarce.
