(Maryland) "Fredericksburg 8 Sep. 1783", dateline and manuscript "2.16" rating on folded letter to Portsmouth, written and signed by Lachlan Mackintosh (McIntosh) as Secretary of the local Lodge, he writes to thank James Hunter for the Bell he gave to the Lodge; file folds, Fine.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

Lachlan McIntosh (1725-1806) was a British-born American military and political leader during the American Revolution and the early United States. In a 1777 duel, he shot dead Button Gwinnett, a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
