1832 (Aug. 1) St. Kitts, B.W.I. To Philadelphia, Pa. Via New Haven, incoming ship letter bearing red "New Haven Ct. Sep 17" cds and matching bold strike of "Ship" handstamp with ship's hull, manuscript "20¾" rating, some docketing on face and part of letter removed, F.-V.F.

1857 (Feb. 24) Buffalo, N.Y. To Havana, Cuba, Shepard correspondence cover bearing 1855, 10¢ green, type III, large margins all around, tied by neat strike of rimless "Buffalo, N.Y. Feb 24" cds, red "New-York, May 2, 1857" cds, blue Havana (5.8) arrival backstamp with matching "NA" and "1" due ratings; stamp with tiny scissor cut in bottom left margin, otherwise Very Fine; with 2013 P.F. certificate.

Feb 25" cds, red "New-York, May 2, 1857" exchange cds, blue Havana (3.8) arrival backstamp with matching "NA" and "1" due ratings, prepaid for the 10¢ American packet rate; clean and Very Fine use.

1872 (Dec. 18) Matanzas, Cuba To Buenos Ayres, Argentina Via St. Thomas, datelined blue folded letter bearing U.S. 10¢ brown (150) and G.B. 4d vermilion, reverse with blue "Forwarded by J. Niles & Co., St. Thomas W.I." oval forwarder's handstamp, partial St. Thomas transit cds, Rio de Janeiro (2.18) transit backstamp, Argentina blue "2/4" for 2 pesos 4 reales due rating and matching crayon canceling stamps; stamp faults, some edge erosion, Fine and rare combination use.
Scott No. 150 + GB #94    Estimate $1,000 - 1,500.

Cover was carried by the U.S. Brazil Mail Steamship "Merrimack" from St. Thomas Jan. 30th 1873 to Rio de Janeiro arriving Feb. 20th 1873.
