(Temperance) Temperance Balance, 1850-60's, of 10 covers; includes illustrated Liberty with "Maine Liquor Law" Flag design (stamp replaced), stampless 1853 "National Temperance Envelope" propaganda cover from Newark, O., publication corner cards (bearing #26) include N.Y.S. Temperance Society "The Prohibitionist" and "The Illinois Son of Temperance", 1859 Lowell, Mass. Sons of Temperance circular, illustrated "Youth's Temperance Visitor" and two different Anti-Tobacco Tract Depository (Fitchburg, Mass.) allover propaganda text designs (on backflaps); some flaws, F.-V.F. overall.

Howell "The Decanter" design (printed lecture in the form of a liquor decanter), organization include 1885 National League for the Suppression of the Liquor Traffic, Prohibition Evangelical Religion and Temperance, 1887 Total Abstinence, 1890 & 1900 Women's Christian Temperance Union (later with matching illustrated enclosure and Mother Stewart mourning sash), N.Y. State Temperance Republican League, 1895 Prohibition Party dual portrait propaganda design, 1903 The Prohibition Ballot hatchet design, later Anti-Saloon League covers, generally Very Fine.
