Newspaper, 1875, 24¢ pale rose, silk fiber paper, showing short silk fibers running throughout the paper most notably on reverse, light manuscript cancel, strong bright color, tiny corner flaw and a few short perfs, Very Fine appearance, Scott catalog lists this variety only in mint condition (catalog $2,000 for mint); with 2013 W. Weiss certificate.

THE ONLY RECORDED USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1875 24¢ NEWSPAPER ISSUE ON SILK FIBER PAPER.

During this period, the Continental Banknote Co. used for a very short period of time silk fiber paper. Many of the 1873 Banknote issues are recorded printed on this paper.
