Panama, Colombia 1892, Registration, 10c yellow brown on light buff, manuscript "180", used with Panama 1892, 10c orange, corner fault, tied by "Agencia Subalterna de Correos, David" circular postmark on cover to Stockton Cal., endorsed "Via New York", reverse with "Transito, Panama, 31 May 1900" cds, red crayon "5", New York (6.13) backstamp and blue "96226" handstamp; light soiling, otherwise Very Fine.

Panama, 1916-17 Registration and A.R. Collection, group of 25 covers with a wide variety of frankings including usages with the 1924 Arms Issue, includes some interesting varieties like F30 strip of five on cover with position 4 missing "5cts." overprint due to dry print, 1922 use to the Czechoslovakia, 1923 legal-size use with H23 to Iceland, 1917 cover with H23b double overprint, 1917 cover with H23b double overprint pair, 1917 cover with H23, H23a pair and another with H23, H23c, 1917 large cover with F30 tete-beche strip of six with F30b and two F30a; 1917 cover with F29d tete-beche pair, cover with F29b pair, and another 1917 large cover with F29d tete-beche strip of five with two F29c, F.-V.F. an interesting study.

Panama, 1922, 5c registration envelope on buff, 165x95mm, used with two 1c Arms (235) singles to Chicago Ill., tied by "Colon, Oct 31 1925" duplexes, purple "R/Agencia Postal, Colon" registry framed handstamp with blue "7431" handstamp, New York (11.9) transit oval, purple Chicago (11.11) arrival backstamp.

Panama, 1924, 5c on 10c Canal Zone registration envelope on buff, 165x95mm, used with a pair of 2c Arms (236) to Gatun, C.Z., cancelled violet "Agencia Postal, Panama, Mar 20, 1925" duplexes with a pair of Panama post office seals sealing the top and bottom of the envelope, purple "R/Agencia Postal, Panama" registry framed handstamp with blue "13507" handstamp, purple "Ancon, C.Z. Mar 30" backstamp, Very Fine and exceedingly scarce.
Higgins and Gage No. C2    Estimate $750 - 1,000.

This envelope was originally prepared as a 10¢ registration envelope for the Canal Zone. For some reason it was rejected, and the envelope was surcharged as 5c and the Canal Zone blacked out. They were then used in Panama for registered letters.

Panama, 1929, 10c red registration envelope on cream, 154x93mm, used with two 1c Balboa (197) singles and Airmail 1929, 10c orange inverted overprint (C2a) and 1930, 15c on 10c orange (C3), all tied by three strikes of purple "Agencia Postal, Panama, May 23" duplexes, First Flight cover to Ecuador (AAMC F9-5b), purple "R/Agencia Postal de Panama/Primer Servicio de Correo Aereo/Panama-Ecuador" framed registry handstamp, Guayaquil (5.29) and Quito (5.30) backstamps, Extremely Fine and attractive. Higgins and Gage No. C3.
Estimate    $150 - 200.

Only a handful of the covers on this flight received the commemorative registry cachet.
