1835 (Mar. 31) Apalachicola Fla. Terr. to London, England via Columbus Ga., datelined folded letter with black "Apalachicola F.Ty. Mar 31" cds, manuscript notation "Forwarded from Apaa." on flap, red "Columbus Ga. Apr 5" cds and matching "Paid" straightline with red manuscript "50" cent rating, indistinct Liverpool Ship framed handstamp on back with manuscript rating, red London (5.11) arrival backstamp and ms. "4/9" 4s9d due rating; some edge wear, F.-V.F.

1840 (Jan. 24) London, England to Boston Mass., red ship letter datestamp and "Paid" tombstone on folded letter endorsed "p Independence via Liverpool", carried as endorsed by Blue Swallowtail Line Independence from Liverpool Feb. 1st to New York arriving Feb. 23rd, red "New-York 'Ship' Mar 23" arrival datestamp with wrong month slug, clean and Very Fine, a scarce Blue Swallowtail Line packet use.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

1856 (Jun. 1) Hamburg, Germany to Robinson, Oh., folded letter datelined "Hamburg d: 26 May 1856" and headed "P Borussia", blue "Henry Klefeker, Hamburg" oval merchant handstamp, sent under separate cover on Hapag Line Borussia from Hamburg Jun. 1st to New York arriving Jun. 17th, posted with 3¢ dull red (11) tied by "New-York Jun 24" cds; some inside tape reinforcement, F.-V.F.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

This was carried on the Inagural Voyage of the Hapag Line and the "Borussia". It was a non-contract voyage with Atlantic transit of 17 days.

1864 (Apr. 5) Washington, D.C. to London, England, cds with matching "24" due rating on orange cover endorsed "Soldiers Letter 10th Mass Vols, Adjutant" and signed "Wm M Curtis" in red manuscript, black "N. York Br. Pkt. '5' Apr 6" debit exchange cds, carried by Cunard Line China from New York to Queenstown arriving Apr. 17th, London manuscript "1/-" shilling due rating for the transatlantic packet fee, docketed as received April 18th, Very Fine and rare transatlantic soldier's letter.

1871 Italian Consulate Cover, cover addressed to the Kansas Pacific R.R. in St. Louis, Mo., with clear "U.S. Consulate General, Florence" sealed cachet handstamp, indistinct Italian date stamp and N.Y. depreciated currency handstamp, Very Fine and attractive; with 2011 P.F. certificate.

1862-1875 Transatlantic Covers, group of four covers comprising 1862 folded letter with GB 1sh green from Scotland to Andover Mass. endorsed "via Cork to New York" and carried by the Cunard Line Arabia leaving Queenstown Jan. 5th to New York Jan. 20; 1¢ UX3 postal card bearing 1¢ blue (156) tied by ms. from New York to Germany, carried by HAPAG Line Thuringia departing Jun. 17th to Hamburg arriving Jul. 1st 1874, Hamburg (7.23) arrival cds; 1875 cover bearing 5¢ blue (179) tied by partial NYFM geometric cancel (ST-MP2) to Fiume, Austria (Croatia), a very scarce NYFM destination, Fiume arrival backstamp; and 1875 orange cover carried on the Final Contract Voyage of the Hapag Line Fresia endorsed "Via Plymouth / Closed Mail by England / S.S. Frisia [sic]", prepaid 11 cents by 5¢ blue, 6¢ dull rose (179, 159) as an overpayment of the 10¢ double UPU rate, bottom portion of 5¢ missing, Fine and interesting group, ex-Feldman.
