Papal/Roman States, 1868, 2c black on green, "2" almost completely omitted, position 84, right stamp on piece with normal single, tied by light diamond bar grid, Very Fine and very scarce, the stereotype underwent progressive damage and stamps from it are known in various states with the final state the numeral is completely missing (Scott 19b, cat $16,500 for single); with 1991 E. Diena certificate. Sassone No. 22 var.
