(Foreign Rates - British North America) 1¢ Blue, group of 14 covers and one front, includes 1862 Chicago with #63, 65 (3) all tied by blue duplexes with "U.States 10 Paid" circular handstamp; 1862 San Francisco cover bearing #63 (w), 65, 68 paying 15¢ rate, reduced at right; 1865 Austin Nev. bearing #63, 65 endorsed "Via 'Panama' per Steamer" to Toronto with red "Paid 10" exchange circular handstamp, two cover to New Brunswick and to Nova Scotia with #63, 68 frankings prepaying 1¢ carrier fee plus 10¢ postage, one patriotic use, two circular rate uses to Nova Scotia and North Hope, Canada with #63 frankings, later a front; some faults but nice basis for expansion.
