1861, 5¢ orange brown, type II, o.g., never hinged, stunning deep rich color on bright fresh paper, choice centering amid wide margins, Extremely Fine, an exceedingly rare stamp in never hinged condition, with only a very few known as such; with 2014 P.S.A.G. Graded certificate (90).

1860, 5¢ brown, type II, full o.g., hinge remnant, intensely rich color with a sharp proof-like impression, Very Fine; with 1998 P.F. certificate.

AN ATTRACTIVE MINT 1860 5¢ BROWN TYPE II IN RARE ORIGINAL GUM CONDITION.

The 1860 5¢ brown type II issue was never in the post offices when the 1861 demonetization order was placed into effect, making original gum examples of these issues far scarcer than it's orange brown counterpart.
