AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE EXAMPLE OF THE PHILADELPHIA SANS-SERIF LABEL, OF WHICH ONLY TWO EXAMPLES ARE RECORDED. IT IS VERY DIFFERENT THAN THE USUAL PRINTED EXAMPLES.

This Sans-Serif version of the Philadelphia registry label is very different than the normal printed versions, lacking both a large "R" and "United States of America." at top.

The San Diego exchange office apparently only used blank labels without a town designation. The Scott catalog recently listed both of the two known examples erroneously under manuscript name, this cover should be listed under the correct blank label type.
