New Zealand, 1855, Queen Victoria "Chalon Head", 1s pale yellow green on blued paper, London printing, Large Star watermark, light barred oval cancel, margins ample to just in at right, rich color, tiny pinhole, Fine appearance, still an attractive example of this very rare first London print issue; with 1978 R.P.S. certificate. SG No. 3 £5,500 ($8,200).
