Star within Star, bold strike ties 3¢ green (158) and 6¢ dull pink (159) on 1874 cover to Paris, France, red "New York 'Paid' Oct 7" cds, carried by Cunard Line Abyssinia to Queenstown, blue Paris (10.19.74) arrival cds and red "PD" framed handstamp; edge tears, 3¢ faint crease, a Very Fine strike.

Star Geometric, bold strike duplexed with "New York Mar 18" cds on 1875 cover to Havana, Cuba, endorsed "Per steamer 'City of New York' ", red Spitzner tobacco merchant corner card, "NA1 debit handstamp for 1 reales due, Havana (3.24.75) arrival backstamp, original contents accompany, Very Fine and scarce cancel, ex-Kirke, Richards.

The Alexandre Line "City of New York" was in service until 1880 when it was destroyed by fire.

Multi-Point Star within Star, remarkable bold strike ties 10¢ brown (161), bright and fresh, on 1874 cover to Florence, Italy, "New York Jan 3" station D backstamp, red "New York Paid All Br. Transit Jan 3" exchange cds also ties 10¢, endorsed "per Steamer Rhein", Verona (1.17) and Firenza backstamp; tiny edge tear, Very Fine and choice use, ex-Boker, Kirke, Richards; with 2003 P.F. certificate.

Multi-Point Star within Star, brilliant bold strike ties 3¢ green (158), deep rich color, on clean 3¢ green (U82) entire to Jena, Germany, red "New York Jul 4" exchange cds, Jena (7.19.74) arrival backstamp; extra red ink at bottom right, Very Fine and choice.

Saturday mails were shared between Inman Line and White Star Line. On Saturday, July 4, 1874 it was reported that the New York Foreign Mail department delivered transatlantic mail to the Inman Line "City of Paris". This steamer arrived at Queenstown on July 13, 1874. This is a very late use of ST-MP3.

Star Geometric, bold socked on the nose strike on 24¢ purple (153), exceedingly well centered within even margins, bright color; trivial light corner crease, fresh and Very Fine appearing with a stunning strike, especially scarce on the 24¢ value.
