(British Columbia) Dietz & Nelsons British Columbia & Victoria Express, Paid, printed first type ribbon frank (DIE-001) on 1863 cover to Victoria, with blue "Paid" in oval handstamp and bold "New Westminster, British Columbia, Post Office" oval handstamp frank (DIE-601); cover a bit reduced at right, Very Fine and attractive.
Estimate    $4,000 - 6,000.

A VERY RARE USAGE OF THE DIETZ & NELSONS BRITISH COLUMBIA & VICTORIA EXPRESS FIRST TYPE FRANK ON COVER.

Only four examples of this rare frank are recorded. All are dated to late March or April of 1863 and are used locally.

(British Columbia) Barnard's Cariboo Express. Collect., black on green label (Wellburn type 3) affixed on 1864 cover to Leeds, England with manuscript "Via New York" routing endorsement at top, entered the mails with blue oval "Post Office, Victoria V.I." coat of arms handstamp, "San Francisco, Cal., Mar 8, 1864" transit cds and "Leeds, Ap 13, 64" receiving postmark with "1/-" due handstamp applied upon arrival; label with some gum soak stain & scuffing, cover with most of backflap missing, F.-V.F.; with 2013 P.F. certificate.
Estimate    $1,500 - 2,000.

(British Columbia) Wells, Fargo & Co., Victoria V.I., blue oval handstamp on 6¢ purple (U64) cover front to London, England, in combination with British Columbia 1867, 5¢ on 3d burnt red (9) tied by blue Victoria "35" barred oval handstamp, also tied by blue straight line "For Great Britain and Ireland" two-line handstamp, entered U.S. indistinct red New York exchange cds and indicia cancelled by circle of Vs cancel, indistinct red London entry cds at left; address inked out, Fine, still a rare usage from Victoria V.I. by express to England., ex-Bolton.
