The only recorded strikes of this service marking are recorded as backstamps on domestic covers dated September 27, 1894 and May 24, 1895.

Received Unsealed., clear strike of purple straight line handstamp (MH unrecorded, 1RRRR) on reverse of 1898 incoming cover from Berkeley, Cal. franked with U.S. 5¢ small bureau tied by duplex postmark, addressed to Honolulu with "35 Ctms/T" handstamp; tone band at center of cover, a Very Fine strike, this being One of Two Known Strikes of This Auxiliary Marking and the Only One in Purple, the other recorded is in black. Estimate $400 - 600.
