Hawaii, Kamehameha III, signature "Kamehameha" on 1851 Royal Patent along with "Keoni Ana" as Kuhina Nui, some toning and faults with document separated, Fine and scarce.
Estimate    $400 - 600.

Keoni Ana, full name John Kalaipaihala Young II (1810-1857), was a politician in the Kingdom of Hawaii, serving as Kuhina Nui (1845-55) of the Hawaiian Islands and Minister of Interior.

Hawaii, King Kamehameha IV, 1857 Government of The Hawaiian Islands document in Hawaiian appointing F.S. Lyman as Assessor signed "Kamehameha", colorless embossed Royal Arms, Two Ring Border Great Seal of the Kingdom, Very Fine and choice.
Estimate    $1,000 - 1,500.

Kamehameha IV, born Alexander Iolani Liholiho (1834-1863), reigned as the fourth monarch of Hawaii under the title: Ke Alii o ko Hawaii Pae Aina of the Kingdom of Hawaii from January 11, 1855 to November 30, 1863.

Hawaii, Princess Keelikolani, Document Signed "R. Keelikolani", 1867 document for the F.S. Lyman appointment, also signed by Justices of the Supreme Court "Elisha H. Allen" and "G.M. Robertson" approving the appointment, colorless embossed Crown seal; minor age toning, F.-V.F.

A RARE DOCUMENT SIGNED BY PRINCESS KEELIKOLANI.

Ruth Keelikolani (1826-83), was a member of the Kamehameha family, the founding dynasty of the Kingdom of Hawaii. She served as Royal Governor of the Island of Hawaii, and also godmother to Princess Kaiulani. As primary heir to the Kamehameha family, Ruth became a landholder of what would become the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Estate funding the Kamehameha Schools. Unlike most of the rest of the royal family, Keelikolani retained traditional Hawaiian cultural practices.

Hawaii, King Kalakaua, Autograph Letter Signed "Kalakaua" on 7¾" x 4-7/8" Royal stationery (Medcalf #38) with gold "KK I" imprint, reading "Your Excellency, Mrs. Beckley has been to me, desiring to be the Keeper of the Government Dispensary at Molokai in Place of Mr. Newton resigned. As Mrs. Beckley is the Treasury of the ladies Benevolent Society on the Island of Molokai, I think it a good thing her to dispense of the Gov. Medicine. She is intelligent and will perform her duty well. Will you attend to the matter, Kalakaua", pencil "1878" dating at top right; vertical file fold affects imprint, Very Fine.
