1861-66 (1875 Re-Issue), 12¢ Black, Post Office fresh original gum, lightly hinged, precision centering with large evenly balanced margins around, rich intense color on bright fresh paper, long full perforations, a Superb gem, one of two examples to receive this grade with no examples higher; with 1988 P.F. and 2012 P.S.E. certificates, the later Graded (Superb 98, $18,000).

A search of our records and of the Siegel website indicates that neither firm has ever offered at public auction a 1861-66 12¢ Re-issue in the grade of Superb 98.
