Special Delivery, 1893, 10¢ Orange, bottom margin plate no. 552 and imprint strip of four, bright color and paper; minor perf seps in selvage only, o.g., hinge remnant, F.-V.F.

Both plates of the 1888 10¢ Special Delivery Issue were reused in January 1893 to print the issue in orange to avoid confusion with the blue 1¢ Columbian stamp.

Special Delivery, 1893, 10¢ Orange, bright color, tied by "World's Fair Station, Chicago, Oct. 13 5PM, 1893" machine cancel on 3¢ Centennial entire with Columbus bust in half-dollar coin design and preprinted address to J. A. Pierce in Chicago Ill., fresh and Very Fine.

The recipient was a well-known stamp dealer who created a large number of postal souvenirs for collectors, one of the first to do so.
